From sselab

Jump to: navigation, search

A watchlist is a set of pages a user has selected to monitor for changes. Watchlists are available to all logged-in users, and cause specific additional behavior in changes lists, such as recent changes. More broadly speaking, a user's watchlist allows identification of changes that interest them.

Configure personal watchlist

You have to manually set your email address in each wiki, you want to use the watchlist feature.

First steps before usage

  • Go to Special:Preferences in your wiki.
    • My preferences -> User profile
    • Fill in your email address
  • Activate both E-Mail options on the same page:
    • "E-mail me when a page on my watchlist is changed"
    • "E-mail me also for minor edits of pages"

Editing your watchlist preferences

  • Under Preferences -> Watchlist you can configure the preferences of your watchlist.
    • It is recommended to disable the options "Add pages I create to my watchlist" and "Add pages I edit to my watchlist", because otherwise too many pages are added to the watchlist (spam from wiki).
  • Under "My watchlist" -> "View and edit watchlist" you can view and edit your own watchlist.
  • Wiki pages can be added to the watchlist by using "Watch this page" and will be removed from this with "Stop watching" even while viewing the page.
